One Name, Two Places

There are two Tannheims on the map — one in Austrian Tyrol, one in the German Allgäu.

Tannheimer Tal in Tyrol is a well-known Alpine holiday region, famous for skiing, mountain hiking and its three-lake hike. If that’s where you want to go, that’s not us.

Our Tannheim sits in southern Germany, in the Allgäu — a quiet village with a Baroque church, a wildlife park, a reservoir and the Iller cycle route right on the doorstep. From here it’s 20–60 minutes by car to Lake Constance, Neuschwanstein Castle and the Allgäu Alps.

Both places are lovely — they just don’t have much in common beyond the name.
