Thermal spas, moor baths and Kneipp — wellness in Upper Swabia
The Swabian Spa Road connects nine spa towns with thermal baths, moor treatments and Kneipp therapy. Bad Wurzach, home to Central Europe’s largest intact raised bog, is about 25 minutes away. The Therme Bad Wörishofen — birthplace of the Kneipp method (UNESCO Cultural Heritage) — is reachable in about 35 minutes.
More thermal spas nearby: Waldsee-Therme in Bad Waldsee (approx. 30 min.) with Upper Swabia’s hottest spring, and Adelindis Therme in Bad Buchau (approx. 35 min.) by the Federsee lake.

Experience nature — moors, lakes and rare birdlife
Upper Swabia is home to some of Europe’s most significant moorlands. The Wurzacher Ried (approx. 25 min.) holds the European Diploma of the Council of Europe and harbours over 2,500 documented plant and animal species. At the Federsee near Bad Buchau (approx. 35 min.) lies south-western Germany’s largest moor, with UNESCO World Heritage pile dwellings and a NABU nature conservation centre.
Right in Tannheim, the Stausee Tannheim reservoir with its bird islands and the Wildpark Oyhof wildlife park (8 hectares, free admission) invite walks and nature watching.
